Smartphone Use

Through our club, we tutors have started to realize that the number of elderly people getting new smartphones is increasing. Every week, we are getting more and more elderly people who come in with new phones not knowing how to use them, asking us for help. However, this is also the elderly to abandon their new smartphones which is why we offer our tutoring services to all the elderly in the city of Cypress.

Smartphones

Smartphones are currently the hottest topic of tutoring in our Tech4Life club. And our goal as tutors is to help the elderly who sign up for our class try and learn every single little detail about their phones, as much as possible. The tutors available, are all experts in both softwares of IOS and Android. And our smartphone tutoring consists of having one of our tutors, pair up with one or two of our elderly students which we generally assign to the same tutor in order to keep things consistent and comfortable for the elderly. ​

Social Media

Many of our elderly students do not use social media as they feel like it is an added burden over already not knowing how to use their phones. They do not care as much for apps or sites like Facebook and Instagram as much as millennials do as they also, do not see the point in having an account for these apps or websites. However, as student tutors who teach everything about technology, we also try to teach the elderly social media and its benefits so that they can implement it into their daily lives to connect with friends and family, all the time.
